According the Bureau of Economic Analysis’s report on the Personal Income and Outlays for May 2016, May performed worse than April in nearly every marker. This is not surprising, however, as April significantly outperformed all other months in the first quarter. May, on the other hand, experienced about average growth relative to the first quarter. May’s national economic performance is reported below, compared to April. All figures represent increases in billions of dollars from the previous month.
